English Proficiency Requirements

English Language Proficiency Test Information

University policy requires international applicants (and domestic applicants whose native language is not English) to provide proof of English language proficiency as a condition of admission.  In addition, federal immigration regulations prohibit the University from issuing a visa document to any student who has not satisfied this requirement.

The chart below provides the University's minimum  requirements for different types of English language proficiency. However, your graduate program may have higher requirements and may not accept all items listed.  It is your responsibility to know your program's English proficiency requirements before you apply.  Failure to adhere to your program's requirements may result in a denial of your application.
